Democrats Fight for MS-13 and Illegal Aliens. They Ignore Murdered Victims Like Rachel Morin
A brutal murder. A shattered family. And a political class more loyal to foreign criminals than to American citizens—because non-citizens and illegal aliens are seen as future voters.
The number one story for Democrats and their legacy media mouthpieces isn’t about American victims, border security, or justice. It’s about how President Trump supposedly “illegally deported a Maryland father.” But the man in question—Kilmar Abrego Garcia—is not a father. He is an illegal alien, a convicted MS-13 gang member, and a foreign terrorist who, according to the White House, has been lawfully deported to his home country of El Salvador.
Meanwhile, Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old Maryland mother of five, was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien in August 2023. The man who represents her state, Senator Chris Van Hollen, barely acknowledged her death—even as her grieving mother lives in his constituency. Worse, he supported the very open-border policies that enabled her killer to enter the country. And now, in a final insult, Van Hollen is championing the return of another violent MS-13 gang member—using taxpayer money to fly to El Salvador and demand the release of a criminal terrorist.
A brutal murder. A shattered family. And a political class more loyal to foreign criminals than to American citizens—because non-citizens and illegal aliens are viewed as future voters.
As Rachel Morin’s mother asks: How is this justice?
What follows is the full White House briefing from Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, followed by the searing testimony of Patty Morin, a mother whose pain the media refuses to cover—because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
Part I: Statement from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
Karoline Leavitt (White House Press Secretary):
In devastating fashion, we have learned today that Democrat officials still refuse to accept the will of the American people.
This morning, Maryland’s Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen rushed to Dallas airport to board a flight to El Salvador—potentially using taxpayer dollars—to advocate for the release of deported illegal alien and MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
The Democrats in this room and across the media have repeatedly, and wrongly, described Abrego Garcia as a “Maryland father.” Let me be clear: he is not a Maryland father. He is an illegal alien, a convicted MS-13 gang member, and a foreign terrorist who has been lawfully deported to his home country of El Salvador.
When originally arrested, Abrego Garcia was wearing a sweatshirt emblazoned with MS-13 gang symbolism—money rolls covering the eyes, ears, and mouth of U.S. presidents, referencing “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” He was arrested alongside two other known MS-13 members. Two separate judges have confirmed his gang affiliation—findings never disputed.
Just this morning, Maryland court documents revealed his wife sought an order of protection in May 2021 for two separate incidents of domestic violence. According to the court, on May 4, 2021, Abrego Garcia punched and scratched his wife, ripped off her shirt, and left her bruised and bloodied. These are facts—filed in Maryland courts.
Let’s step back: Democrats are defending an illegal alien, a foreign terrorist, and a documented domestic abuser—not a father, not a citizen. Under federal law, he was subject to deportation, and if he ever returns, he will be immediately deported again.
The United States Supreme Court ruled unanimously: the President and the Secretary of State cannot be forced to bring back this foreign national—currently held in a maximum-security prison in El Salvador for his MS-13 affiliation.
Let me remind the media: MS-13 is not misunderstood. They rape innocent women, traffic children, murder for sport, and terrorize communities. El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has rightly refused to release Abrego Garcia from prison. But still, Democrats in this country remain obsessed with bringing him back.
Instead of applauding the historic drop in southern border crossings, or praising the law enforcement officers risking their lives to keep our country safe, they fight to restore the rights of violent foreign criminals—not American citizens.
It’s appalling, and no one understands that better than the woman standing beside me: Patty Morin, mother of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old Maryland mother of five, who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien in August 2023.
Patty should never have had to be here. But she is. And she has asked to speak. We are grateful for her strength, and for her powerful voice.
Part II: Statement from Patty Morin, Mother of Rachel Morin
Patty Morin:
Many of you don’t know the full story of what happened to my daughter, Rachel. Even our family didn’t know all the details—detectives kept it close to protect the integrity of the case.
I sat through the last two weeks of the trial. I saw layer after layer of evidence presented against the accused—an illegal immigrant from El Salvador named Victor Martinez. Things we feared might have happened were confirmed. We finally got the full picture.
Rachel was 37 years old, a mother of five. We’ve walked that same trail for 25 years. It was always safe—our place to reconnect with New England, where we’re from. That day, Rachel planned to go grocery shopping with her girls after her walk. She didn’t know she was walking to her death.
Victor Martinez waited for her. When he saw she was alone, he attacked. He dragged her 150 feet, leaving a trail of blood behind. He used rocks stained with her blood to smash her head—they counted at least 20 blows. The back of her skull was shattered like an eggshell, and three-quarters of her brain hemorrhaged. Her face was bashed in, her bones fractured—there wasn’t a single inch of her body left uninjured.
He then dragged her into a tunnel, threw her against the wall, and raped her as blood gushed from her head. Her hair was soaked in blood. The crime scene photos showed her outlined in her own blood, with trails running down the wall and pooling beneath her. Then he raped her again, and finally strangled her to death, ensuring she’d never be able to tell her story.
During the autopsy, they found massive hemorrhaging in her neck muscles—evidence of the extreme violence he used to crush her throat. He had no remorse. He sat in that courtroom like he expected to walk free.
The crime was so graphic, the photos so disturbing, that they were sealed from public view—because I don’t want Rachel’s daughters to ever see them.
These are the monsters that President Trump is trying to remove from our country. This isn’t about left or right. This is about protecting American citizens. Why should we let violent criminals roam free while mothers bury daughters?
I’m not here to talk politics, but I do care about this country. And I want to preserve life—that’s why I speak Rachel’s name. That’s why I relive this horror—because it should never happen again.
If you're a mother, imagine someone ripping your heart out of your chest. That’s what it feels like. A pain you can't describe. Just like carrying a child or feeling their first kicks—it's something only a mother understands.
So why aren’t we protecting our citizens? Why are foreign criminals given more rights than our own children?
And to see a Senator from my state, Chris Van Hollen, barely acknowledge my daughter’s murder, and then spend taxpayer money to go fight for the return of a non-citizen terrorist, while Rachel’s five children are left without their mother, and her grandchild without a grandmother—how is this justice?
I don’t understand this.
Thank you.
