Elon Musk levels the political playing field
Musk has unchained the voices for freedom on Twitter and is leading the fight against the culture wars started by the Left after it began silencing and canceling opposing voices to win elections.
“This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead.”—Elon Musk
When asked if he thinks Twitter should make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the New York Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election in the interest of transparency, Musk replied, “This is necessary to restore public trust.”
“Suspending the Twitter account of a major news organization for publishing a truthful story was obviously incredibly inappropriate.” He was responding to a tweet from a reporter who called the lawyer, Vijaya Gadde, the “top censorship advocate at Twitter who famously gaslit the world on Joe Rogan’s podcast and censored the Hunter Biden laptop story.”
“I’m fine with Trump not tweeting. The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service. Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.” Musk tweeted.
By allowing freedom of speech on Twitter, Musk has leveled the political competitive playing field in a raging culture war that is tearing our country apart. "What do you think of the culture war?" tweeted Musk. Allowing freedom of speech is necessary for Twitter’s survival. It can even thrive and earn Musk and his investors an above-capital-cost return, but only after it has been purged of woke ideologues and restructured its business. Cutting labor-cost bloat is job one.
As Milton Friedman said, “It’s often forgotten that a corollary to freedom of speech is the freedom to listen. Freedom of speech does not mean the right to force anybody to listen to what you have to say. Freedom of speech means the freedom to stand up, hire a hall, offer to speak, and let anybody come who wants to listen to you.”
Censorship restricts individual choice and freedom. Beloved by tyrants and autocrats, censorship is a form of discrimination based on opinion and political perspective. Listeners are victims, deprived of equal access to information. Social media and MSM have denied the public critical information like Hunter Biden’s laptop during the run-up to the presidential election in 2020.
The government – and the media that does its censorship bidding – has imposed an inferior status on the listener. It does so to sway political elections and to silence voices that do not toe the approved Party line. The denial of equal access to information results in an inferior socioeconomic status imposed by the censor. This is exactly what the government does in communist China. State-owned media controls the narrative to keep the population in the dark and under tight control. It’s the only way the communists can retain power.
It should be apparent, to anyone paying attention, that Biden and his progressive handers are taking our country down a road that leads to an authoritarian state. The ability to speak, and listen to all voices, is critical for our freedoms and the American way of life. Musk has unchained the voices for freedom on Twitter and is leading the fight against the culture wars started by the Left after it began silencing and canceling opposing voices to win elections.
