Free speech must be regulated to save democracy
The Democrat’s agenda to transform America and win elections requires a Disinformation Board.
Elon Musk buys Twitter and the enraged Left freaks out, calling for corporations to censor speech. They attack their once favorite—anti-free speech—social media platform as the domain of the nation’s elite and white professional class. The goal is to censor ‘disinformation’ via corporate content management. The fear is that conservatives and former president Donald Trump can now voice their views on Twitter.
What they don’t say is Why?
Well, the answer is, to prepare the great unwashed for the November midterms. This is especially true for minority communities that benefit from billions in funding the administration’s plans to dole out in the name of equity and racial justice. It’s massive wealth redistribution and a critical component of the transformation agenda. Hispanics have been moving to the Republican camp, so they too must be protected from disinformation. Anyone who counters the government narratives will likely be labeled a threat to democracy and fairness—to be censored or canceled.
Democrats support state-imposed censorship. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called for the European Union to pass the Digital Services Act (DSA), a measure widely denounced by free speech advocates as a massive censorship measure. Clinton warned that governments need to act now because “for too long, tech platforms have amplified disinformation and extremism with no accountability. The EU is poised to do something about it.”
Not to be outdone, Barack Obama has called for U.S. regulations. Obama declared: “This is an opportunity, it’s a chance that we should welcome for governments to take on a big important problem and prove that democracy and innovation can coexist.” He is talking about imposing regulations on companies to force them to censor “lies” and “disinformation.”
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) has declared Musk’s pledge to restore free speech values on social media as threatening democracy itself. She has promised that “they are going to rule” to block such changes.
European Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager declared that the DSA is “not a slogan anymore, that what is illegal offline should also be seen and dealt with as illegal online. Now it is a real thing. Democracy’s back.” “Users will be empowered to report illegal content online and online platforms will have to act quickly.” This includes speech that is not only viewed as “disinformation” but also “incitement.” In other words, free speech can no longer be free; it must be regulated to protect free speech.
Recently, the Biden-Harris administration unveiled a massive government-wide action plan to advance racial equity across 90 federal agencies with more than 300 strategies and commitments laid out by government leaders.
On president Joe Biden Biden’s first day in office, he signed Executive Order 13985, “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government” which “directed the whole of the federal government to advance an ambitious equity and racial justice agenda focused on creating prosperity, dignity, and equality for underserved communities”.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the Disinformation Governance Board would combat misinformation campaigns targeting minority communities. The goal of the Disinformation Governance Board is to “bring the resources of [DHS] together to address” the threat of disinformation, with a focus on the spread of disinformation in minority communities.
“The purpose of the Board is to explain how their agenda would help and include ‘underserved communities’ — which is taken to mean minority, non-white, non-heterosexual, non-male groups —to be considered for the taxpayer-funded grants.”
The board’s executive director is Nina Jankowicz, who was selected by the Biden Administration after years of pushing misinformation on the left while calling for censorship of the right. She previously had spread false rumors on social media that Donald Trump voters would show up armed at the polls in 2020 and falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation. She promoted the Russian collusion hoax and even expressed support for the former British spy behind the Russian dossier. Jankowicz also claimed, online, ahead of the 2016 presidential election, that a Donald Trump presidency would 'embolden ISIS,' when, in reality, Islamic State collapsed under the Trump administration, which also carried out the successful operation to kill its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
She recently said, “I shudder to think about if free speech absolutists were taking over more platforms, what that would look like for the marginalized communities.”
Mayorkas also said the board was created to target supposed misinformation linked to key vulnerabilities for the Biden administration — including the border crisis and Russian disinformation threats. This is a head fake to distract from the real purpose of the board—to control the narratives in the minority communities for political purposes. Ginning up minority support for the midterm elections requires an experienced political activist and propagandist.
Jankowicz is the perfect Disinformation Czar to help the Biden administration and the Democrats transform America into a socialist state and to retain seats in the midterm elections.
The new Disinformation Board’s success will depend upon slick political narratives that gin up support in minority communities. Regulating free speech and censoring conservative voices is required to push an agenda that Americans reject. More importantly, without minority support, the woke progressives in control of government lose the power to suppress free speech and transform America.
So: if you want to save free speech you must limit free speech. Orwell couldn’t have said it better. “Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them” — George Orwell, 1984.
Free speech isn’t risk-free— that’s what makes it worth defending.
