Repackaged Communism: The best way to divide America is by race
Grievance and victimhood are at the heart of propaganda and indoctrination. It's the best way to slice and dice the country into tribes to gain influence and power.
Hiding behind the mask of progressivism, socialists slice and dice our country into antagonistic tribes, to organize, manage, and leverage them for political purposes. As it turns out, race and gender are great ways to divide America and gin up votes. Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution, though based on class (specifically, capitalists, teachers, intellectuals, and enemies of the Communist Party), similarly divided the people.
Capitalism, in contrast, is part of humanity’s great quest for freedom. Long before the Declaration of Independence, the English philosopher John Locke wrote about the fundamental rights of “life, liberty, and property,” which Thomas Jefferson gilded into “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Gavin Newsom’s Reparations Task Force shows that the progressives are winning politically. One activist is calling for $350,000 to be given to every eligible Black person in the state. Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Eric Adams endorsed California’s effort to give reparations to both individuals and businesses.
The move in California comes after a first-in-the-nation taskforce released a 500-page report back in June on incidents of “segregation, racial terror, harmful racist neglect.” Now the same task force will begin to decide how much each Black resident might receive.
The subjects being considered for monetary relief include those that suffered from “government taking property, the devaluation of Black-owned businesses, housing discrimination and homelessness, mass incarceration and over-policing, and health.”
In 2020, Newsom signed legislation to create the task force and look into reparations. It will consider when these harms started and finished, a herculean task by any standard. Only Californians who are descendants of Black Americans from the 19th century will be eligible.
Other liberal candidates embrace a 70% to 80% income tax rate, a wealth tax on previously taxed capital, open borders, Medicare for all, free health care for illegal aliens, and radical changes to the US legal system, such as abolishing the Electoral College, packing the Supreme Court, allowing sixteen-year-olds and ex-felons to vote, and transitioning to mail balloting in place of Election Day polling booths.
Progressives in power distract us from actions that wouldn’t be tolerated if we had honest media. While we are fixated on pronouns, microaggressions, and the insinuation that the USA is a hotbed of racism, powerful elites are dismantling our economy, constitutional rights, and watering down our children’s ability to think.
Polls suggest that perhaps half of America’s young people now view socialism as positively as capitalism. One poll found that seven in ten millennials would consider voting for a socialist. Poor education and propaganda are the reason so many Americans find socialism acceptable.
Through propaganda and indoctrination, too many citizens have become the Left’s unwitting useful idiots—willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin, as James Monroe once declared. Citizens are no longer capable of exercising control over the representatives they elect to serve. But socialists will not give up power voluntarily. They will pull every authoritarian lever they can to suppress resistance that threatens their rule.
It's part of the socialist’s global agenda, and it's driven by the same Marxist thought pathogen that Elon Musk calls the “woke mind virus”. Curtailing freedom is necessary to nourish the seed of socialism.
No one questions that slavery was an abomination, it was practiced in much of the world at one time or another. “Racism grew out of African slavery, especially in the United States, but slavery preceded racism by thousands of years. Europeans enslaved other Europeans for centuries before the first African was brought in bondage to the Western Hemisphere.”—Thomas Sowell, Economic facts and Fallacies.
Throughout history, women were disenfranchised, the poor were criminalized, child labor was the norm, and most people could neither read nor write. While we cannot right past wrongs, we can learn from them, creating opportunities in education, housing, business, and employment, and how we interact with our fellow citizens. We can build a better world but not a perfect one.

California wasn’t even part of the United States when slavery still existed. If they really want to fairly pay “reparations”, California should pay money to the Mexican peasants who worked the land and the Chinese who built the railroads. Or better yet, we should let the past be the PAST and move forward.
