The disinformation fox at Twitter
Elon Musk fired Twitter General Counsel Jim Baker on Tuesday and accused Baker of 'suppression of information important to the public dialogue'.
The social media censorship scandal is much worse than we imagined. Other social media likely have their own deep state operatives working with the Democratic Party and the Biden administration. Stunning news this afternoon. The disinformation fox was guarding the Twitter hen house.
Elon Musk fired Twitter General Counsel Jim Baker on Tuesday and accused Baker of 'suppression of information important to the public dialogue'. Journalist Matt Taibbi claimed Baker 'vetted' Twitter Files before Friday's release.
Jim Baker was hired by Twitter as a general counsel, and he became the FBI’s and Biden campaign’s contact between the FBI and Twitter management. Baker has been the center of FBI controversies dating back to 2016, from the Steele Dossier to the Alfa-Server mess. He resigned in 2018 after an investigation into leaks to the press.
From Matt Taibbi:
“The process for producing the “Twitter Files” involved delivery to two journalists (Bari Weiss and me) via a lawyer close to new management. However, after the initial batch, things became complicated.”
“Over the weekend, while we both dealt with obstacles to new searches, it was @BariWeiss who discovered that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim. When she called to ask “Jim’s” last name, the answer came back: “Jim Baker.”
“My jaw hit the floor,” says Weiss.
Elon Musk also called the New York Times a "lobbying firm for far-left politicians" after the paper apparently ran no story about the release of "The Twitter Files" — the trove of internal emails detailing the social media platform's censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.
Emails showed members of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden's inner circle reached out to Twitter and asked its personnel to "review" tweets — after which Twitter deleted them.
